Information we collect

MilitaryFitnessCalc is a client-side calculator. Score calculations happen entirely in your browser — we do not collect, store, or transmit the fitness scores you enter into the calculator.

We may collect the following through third-party services:

• Usage data — Pages visited, time on site, browser type, device type, and general location (city/region, not precise) via Google Analytics 4.
• Session & interaction data — Microsoft Clarity captures how visitors interact with the site (clicks, scrolls, mouse movement, and anonymized session recordings) so we can improve usability. Clarity does not capture the numbers you type into calculators.
• Ad interaction data — Google AdSense may collect data to serve relevant advertisements. See Google’s Privacy Policy for details.
• Email you send us — there is no contact form on this site. If you email contact@militaryfitnesscalc.com, your email address and whatever you write in the message reach us through ordinary email, and are kept only as long as needed to answer you.

What is stored on your own device

Two things are written to your browser’s local storage. Local storage stays on your device; it is not sent to us and it is not readable by any other site.

Saved score history is kept separately, in the browser’s IndexedDB rather than in local storage, and is described in section 03.

Clearing your browser’s site data removes all of them. The Retake button in the calculator clears the saved card. A result link you copy from the calculator carries your entries in the URL fragment after the # — browsers do not send a fragment to the server, but anyone you send that link to can read the numbers in it.

Score history saved on your device

The calculators can save a scored card to a history kept in this browser. It is off until you use it, and it changes none of the promises above.

• Only when you ask. A card is written to your history when you press Save to history under a result, and never on its own. Nothing you type is saved by simply computing a score.
• Only on your device. The history lives in your browser’s own database (IndexedDB, named mfc) on the device you saved it on. It is not sent to us, it is not readable by any other site, and nothing syncs it through a server of ours. There is still no account, no login, no email field and no server holding your results.
• What a saved row contains. The result link the calculator produced — the same one the # fragment carries, which holds your age, sex and raw event figures — plus the date you saved it, the total, whether it passed, and any note you type yourself.

Browsers delete this. Apple’s Safari removes a site’s stored data, including this history, after seven days without a visit to the site. A site added to the iPhone Home Screen is exempt from that rule. Clearing your browser’s site data removes the history on any browser, immediately and completely.

Export and delete. On your history page, Export backup file writes every saved card to a JSON file in your own downloads — the only copy that survives a wiped browser or a new phone — and Import a backup reads one back. Delete all history erases every saved card from the device, and each row has its own delete. We cannot delete your history for you, because we do not have it.

Moving it to another device. Two routes, and neither one sends your scores to us. You can put the exported file into storage you already own — iCloud Drive, Google Drive, anywhere you keep your own documents — and import it on the other device; that file is then governed by whoever runs that storage, not by this policy. Or you can press Show transfer code, which draws your saved cards as a QR code for the other phone’s camera. The scores are carried inside the link itself, in the part after the #, which browsers never transmit to a server — so they pass between the two screens without reaching any network. The receiving device always asks before adding anything. A transfer code contains your scores in readable form: anyone who photographs it can read them, so show it only to the device you mean to.

Cookies

MilitaryFitnessCalc uses cookies through Google AdSense, Amazon Associates, and analytics services including Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity. These cookies may be used to serve personalized advertisements based on your browsing history. You can opt out of personalized advertising at optout.aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org.

Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-4943534579898039) to display advertisements. Google may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

Amazon Associates

MilitaryFitnessCalc is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. When you click an Amazon link and make a purchase, Amazon may set cookies on your device. See Amazon’s Privacy Notice for details, and the disclaimer for the full affiliate disclosure.

Microsoft Clarity

We partner with Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use our site through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay. Clarity collects usage data using first- and third-party cookies and other tracking technologies to gauge site performance and improve usability. Session recordings are anonymized and we do not capture the values you enter into any calculator. Data is captured and processed by Microsoft in accordance with Microsoft’s Privacy Statement, and its use is governed by the Microsoft Clarity terms of use.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use our site — which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, referral sources, and approximate (non-precise) geographic region. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect this data, which is aggregated and does not identify you personally. We do not send the values you enter into any calculator to Google Analytics. You can learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy, and you can opt out site-wide using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Data retention

We do not store personal data on our servers beyond what is necessary to answer a message you send us. Email correspondence is retained only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or California, you have rights regarding your personal data including the right to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us via the contact page.

Children’s privacy

MilitaryFitnessCalc is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
